Bring Your Dog to Adventure Van Expo Bozeman — August 15

If your idea of a perfect weekend is climbing in and out of build-outs while your co-pilot sniffs every tire, mark the calendar: Adventure Van Expo 2026 rolls into the Gallatin County Fairgrounds in Bozeman, Montana, on August 15–16, 2026. It's two days of open-house vans, truck campers, expedition vehicles, and trailers you can actually climb into — plus builders, food, and live bands.

We're Sniff & Shift, a family-owned dog-treat and e-collar brand from Malvern, PA, built around car culture and the road (our co-pilot, Ella, has strong opinions about which rigs are nap-worthy). Bozeman is a long way from Chester County, but an outdoor expo full of adventure vehicles is exactly the kind of trip that makes a great dog memory.

What you'll find

Adventure Van Expo is a hands-on show: the whole point is that you get to step inside the campers and expedition rigs, talk to the people who built them, and dream up your own dog-friendly road setup. Between vehicles you'll find gear vendors, food, and music, all in the open-air setting of the fairgrounds. For anyone plotting a life on the road with a dog, it's a goldmine of ideas — from crate placement to cooling fans to where the water bowl rides.

One important heads-up on dogs

Here's the honest part: the host has not published a pet policy for this event, so the dog policy is unverified. It's an outdoor fairgrounds venue with an outdoor-community crowd, which is encouraging, but we never assume. Please confirm directly with the organizer before bringing your dog — a quick message or check of their site can save you a turned-around trip. If dogs aren't a fit this year, it's still a fantastic show to scout solo and plan your build.

If your dog gets the green light, come prepared

Montana in August can swing from cool mornings to hot, sunny afternoons, and a busy expo is a lot of stimulation for a pup. A few road-tested basics:

• Leash and control. Keep your dog on a standard leash and close to you in crowds and around open vehicle doors.
• Water and shade. Bring plenty of fresh water and a bowl, and find (or bring) shade — fairgrounds can be short on tree cover.
• Watch hot pavement and metal. Asphalt lots and sun-baked vehicle steps get hot; check surfaces with your hand before your dog walks or hops up.
• Never leave a dog in a parked car or van. Even with windows cracked, interiors turn dangerous fast in the sun. If your pup can't be with you, leave them somewhere safe and cool.
