Giving Disclosures

Sniff and Shift ("we," "us") operates the Shift Gears for Good section of this website to support charitable organizations and fundraisers our community cares about. These disclosures explain exactly how giving works on our site. Please read them before donating.

1. Who we are (and aren't)

Sniff and Shift is a for-profit business based in Pennsylvania. We are not a nonprofit, charity, or tax-exempt organization, and we are not a professional fundraiser. Our charity pages exist to spotlight causes we believe in and to make it easy for our community to support them.

2. Two ways giving works on this site

(a) Direct donation links. Most organizations featured on our Pit Stops for a Purpose page are linked directly to their own websites or donation processors. When you use those links, your donation goes straight to the organization. Sniff and Shift does not collect, hold, process, or receive any portion of those donations, and your transaction is governed by that organization's terms and privacy policy — not ours.

(b) Donations collected through our store. For select featured campaigns (currently Matt's 300-Mile Ride benefiting the American Cancer Society, and the Brandywine Valley SPCA), we offer donation "products" you can purchase through our checkout. For these:

• Your payment is collected by Sniff and Shift, not by the charity.
• We forward 100% of the donation amount you choose to the named beneficiary. Sniff and Shift absorbs payment processing costs and retains no portion of your donation.
• Forwarding happens on a regular basis, no less than monthly while a campaign is active.
• No goods or services are provided in exchange for donation purchases.
• Records of amounts collected and forwarded are available on request via our contact page.

3. Tax deductibility

Because Sniff and Shift is a for-profit business, donations made through our store checkout are not tax-deductible as charitable contributions for the donor. If you would like a tax-deductible receipt, donate directly to the organization through the direct links we provide on each page. Whether any donation is deductible depends on the receiving organization's status and your individual tax situation — please consult a tax professional.

4. Independence, endorsement, and trademarks

The charitable organizations featured on this site are independent organizations. Unless expressly stated, they are not affiliated with Sniff and Shift, and their appearance on our site does not mean they sponsor or endorse Sniff and Shift or our products. Organization names, logos, and marks are the property of their respective owners and are used solely to identify the organizations and campaigns being supported.

5. Accuracy of information

Descriptions, statistics, and campaign details about featured organizations are drawn from those organizations' own public materials at the time of publication and may change without notice. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or privacy practices of external websites.

6. Refunds

Donation purchases made through our checkout are non-refundable once forwarded to the beneficiary. If you made a donation in error (wrong amount, duplicate charge), contact us within 14 days via our contact page and we will make it right if the funds have not yet been forwarded.
