Bring Your Dog to DogFest North Central — September 20

Point the nose toward central Ohio: on Sunday, September 20, 2026, DogFest North Central takes over the Canine Companions North Central Training Center (7480 New Albany-Condit Rd, New Albany, OH 43054) from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. It's an afternoon of games, vendors, family fun, and — the real showstopper — live service-dog demonstrations, all set on the very campus where those dogs are trained.

What makes this DogFest special

DogFest is Canine Companions' nationwide celebration of the human–canine bond, and the North Central edition has a home-field advantage: it happens right at a training center. That means the demos aren't a sideshow — they're the point. Watching a service dog work is the kind of thing that recalibrates how you see your own goofball on the leash beside you. And every dollar raised helps place expertly trained service dogs with people who need them, at no cost to the recipient.

Why it's a fun day with a dog

An early-fall Sunday in Ohio is close to ideal dog-outing weather — cooler air, gentle sun, and a wide, open campus with room to roam. The 1–4 p.m. window is short enough that even a dog who tires of crowds won't get overwhelmed, and there's enough going on (games, vendors, demos) to keep both ends of the leash entertained.
