Bring Your Dog to Fall Carlisle — September 30
Share
If your co-pilot loves a good long ramble with new smells around every corner, few outings deliver like Fall Carlisle. Picture 100-plus acres of vendors, parts, and project cars — all outdoors, all strollable — with a leashed dog padding happily beside you down the aisles.
What's happening
Fall Carlisle 2026 is a sprawling five-day automotive flea market and car corral at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds (1000 Bryn Mawr Rd, Carlisle, PA), running Wednesday, September 30 through Sunday, October 4, 2026. Hosted by Carlisle Events, it's one of the largest swap meets of its kind anywhere — acre after acre of parts, memorabilia, and cars for sale. With everything spread across the fairgrounds and nothing but open sky overhead, a well-mannered dog can browse the rows right alongside you.
Why it's a great dog outing
Early fall weather, mild temperatures, and endless walking make Fall Carlisle a natural fit for a canine tag-along. The pace is entirely yours — wander, pause, dig through a bin of parts, move on — and there's plenty of room to step aside for a water break or a quiet moment. For a dog that loves exploring, the swap-meet aisles are a nose-level wonderland.
Know before you go: Carlisle's pet rules
From the event's own listing: leashed pets are permitted with conditions. Carlisle Events asks that you keep pets leashed, provide water and shade, pick up after your dog, keep pets out of the Food Court, and never leave a pet in a parked vehicle. Carlisle notes it discourages but permits pets — so this is best suited to a calm, crowd-comfortable dog. Please confirm the current pet policy directly with Carlisle Events before you go, since guidelines can shift from season to season.
Co-pilot packing tips
- Leash stays on. Required here, and smart anywhere the crowd and merchandise are dense.
- Water and shade. Even in early October, midday sun on open grounds adds up over a long day of walking. Bring a collapsible bowl and plan shady breaks.
- Check the pavement. Blacktop and gravel can still be warm — if it's uncomfortable for your hand, keep to grassy paths.
- Never leave your dog in the car. Not for a minute, even on a milder fall day.
- Bring high-value treats. Five days of swap-meet buzz is a lot to take in — a pocket of standout rewards keeps your co-pilot engaged and easy to redirect. Our freeze-dried dog treats are single-ingredient and low-mess, perfect for on-the-go.
