Bring Your Dog to the NSRA Northeast Street Rod Nationals — September 18

Street rods, a manufacturers' midway, and a swap meet the size of a small town — all set against a backdrop of Vermont's Champlain Valley just as the leaves start to turn. The NSRA Northeast Street Rod Nationals is one of the great late-season gatherings for the pre-1988 crowd, and in 2026 it rolls into the Champlain Valley Exposition on Friday and Saturday, September 18–19.

What it is

Hosted by the National Street Rod Association, the Northeast Nationals fill the Champlain Valley Exposition at 105 Pearl St in Essex Junction, Vermont with hot rods, customs, and classics, plus a giant swap meet and a manufacturers' midway stacked with parts and builders. It's a mostly outdoors, walk-the-grounds kind of show — wide aisles, open sky, and a laid-back New England enthusiast crowd. Why it's a great outing with a dog

Outdoor fairgrounds shows are some of the most dog-friendly stops on the whole car-culture calendar: room to roam, grass underfoot, and a mellow pace. Mid-September in northern Vermont usually means cool, comfortable weather, too — a welcome change from the sweltering summer meets.
