Diamond Naturals Active Cat Chicken & Rice Dry Cat Food

Diamond Naturals Active Cat Chicken & Rice Formula is a high protein, high fat dry kibble food made for active cats, also suited to kittens and pregnant or nursing adult cats.

Diamond Pet Foods states on its own site that this formula “is formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO Cat Food Nutrient Profiles for All Life Stages.” Diamond describes it as a 40 percent protein formula built for high-power nutrition, with added DHA to help support brain and vision development and what it calls superfoods and probiotics. Diamond’s own guaranteed analysis lists crude protein at 40 percent minimum, crude fat at 18 percent minimum, crude fiber at 3 percent maximum, moisture at 10 percent maximum and a calculated 3,900 kcal per kilogram.

The first ingredients Diamond lists are chicken meal, white rice, potato protein, chicken fat and natural flavor. Diamond’s feeding guide gives about a quarter cup a day for kittens up to 4 months and about two thirds of a cup for a 10 pound adult cat, with free-choice feeding recommended for pregnant or nursing cats.
