Meet The Family Pet
The Family Pet is not Sniff and Shift. They are an independent pet store in Nanuet, New York, and the Open Farm food on this site is sold and shipped by them through Shopify Collective. We do not make, stock or ship any of it, and the food itself is made by Open Farm.
Why Open Farm is here
At home Ella eats Oma's Pride fresh raw. Open Farm is what we reach for when we run out or when we are on the road and cannot keep raw food cold, so it is the one kibble and wet food we will put our own name next to. Open Farm posts where every ingredient came from by lot number, which is the standard we hold our own treats to. We could not buy it direct, so it comes through The Family Pet. The product descriptions are Open Farm's; we do not add claims of our own.
Other brands from The Family Pet
The Family Pet also carries most of the mainstream dog and cat food brands. We do not put those in our menus; the only place you will find them is our dog food comparison tool, where a food that The Family Pet stocks can be ordered from its comparison card. Same terms as Open Farm: sold and shipped by The Family Pet, made by the brand on the bag.
How ordering works
- Your order goes to The Family Pet through Shopify Collective and usually ships within two business days from Nanuet, NY, with its own tracking number, at the rate set at checkout.
- Shipping for these items is separate from our free treat shipping. Treats in the same order still ship from us in Pennsylvania.
- Returns go back to The Family Pet within 30 days. Email support@sniffandshift.com with your order number and we will start it for you.
- Discount codes and Garage rewards apply to Sniff and Shift products only.
Why a treat company sells food
Because people ask what we feed. The honest answer is fresh raw at home and Open Farm on the road, with a pocket of freeze-dried treats in between. Sniff and Shift earns a commission on these sales; the treats are still the point. Browse Open Farm.
