Mother's Day Gifts for Dog Moms, Sorted by Kind of Dog Mom

Our short list of Mother's Day gifts for dog moms is a travel bag, a hoodie, a tee, a bandana and a treat box, matched to the kind of dog mom you are shopping for. Mother's Day falls on the second Sunday of May. Each gift below sits under the person it suits.

Most of this list is ours, and one item is not. We make single ingredient freeze-dried and air-dried treats in Malvern, Pennsylvania, and our shirts and hoodies carry the circle logo. The travel bag comes from a partner. We say which is which as we go.

For the dog mom who travels

The Puffer Travel Bag from Rubyloo is a tote built for errands and for travel with a dog. It comes in Black, Beige, Pink, Grey, Earth or Khaki. Inside you get two collapsible travel dog bowls and two lined food containers. There is a pocket for poop bags and nine more pockets for treats, wipes, a laptop and a phone.

The quilted nylon is wipeable, and a luggage strap slides over a suitcase handle so the bag rides along hands-free. Rubyloo items are sold and shipped by Rubyloo through Shopify Collective, not made or shipped by Sniff and Shift.

For the early walker

The Sniff and Shift Circle-Logo Hoodie is written up for 6 a.m. walks. The inside is midweight brushed fleece. The cut is unisex and relaxed, with room to layer over a tee. The cuffs and hem are ribbed, there is a front pouch pocket, and the full circle logo is printed across the back. The front stays clean.

Sizes run from S to 2XL, and the hoodie comes in black along with a long list of other colors. The chest measures 38 to 40 inches in a small and 51 to 54 inches in a 2XL. The cut is true to size, so if she wants it fitted, size down. Machine wash cold inside out and tumble dry low, and keep the iron off the print.

For the car show regular

The Sniff and Shift Circle-Logo T-Shirt is the one for a morning at a cars-and-coffee with a leash in one hand. It has a front chest logo and a unisex cut in adult sizes from S through 2XL. There is no youth cut in this run.

The body is cut straight rather than tapered, so it sits the same on most frames. If she is between two sizes and wants room over a hoodie, take the larger one. If she wants it close, take the smaller. Wash it cold, inside out, and tumble dry low. The rest of our wear is in the merch collection.

For the dog mom who has everything

Modified Monthly is our custom monthly treat box for dogs and cats. Every month has a new theme and a handpicked assortment, so the box that shows up in September is not the box that shows up in October. Favorites come back, and the lineup around them changes.

Dogs get the Gas Division lineup and cats get the Electric Division. The Hybrid Division covers a house with one of each. Tell us the treats the dog loves and the ingredients to steer around, and we work with you on the selection. The Standard Box can carry two dogs, with each dog's name and the proteins to skip added at sign-up.

It is a subscription, not a single box. The page spells out how it renews, and how to pause, skip or cancel before the next billing date. Read it before you order it as a gift.

For the dog mom who trains

A training jar runs low fast, so a 3-pack makes sense here. The Beef Liver 3-Pack holds three bags of freeze-dried beef liver dog treats, all the same size, and you choose 3 ounce or 6 ounce bags at checkout. It has one ingredient, beef liver, with nothing sprayed on and nothing added. It is freeze-dried raw in small batches in Pennsylvania. Liver breaks into small pieces cleanly, which suits daily recall sessions.

The Cheddar Bites 3-Pack is the other option. It holds three bags of freeze-dried cheddar cheese dog treats, with one ingredient and no coatings or fillers. Cheddar crumbles into pea-sized rewards, which is what a long session needs. It contains dairy and is not for dogs with a known dairy sensitivity.

For the photo

The Sniff and Shift Circle-Logo Dog Bandana wears a 3-inch circle logo printed on the front panel. The fabric is a cotton blend, and it ties on with no snaps and no velcro. It comes in White or Black. The folded triangle measures roughly 21 inches across the long edge, in one size.

It is a small gift, and it ends up in the photo. Wash it cold and hang it dry to keep the print sharp.

The card

Sign it from the dog. Put the dog's name at the bottom of the card, not yours, because a gift from the dog is the point of the day. If you want more ideas to mix in, the other gift guide covers gifts for a dog and its owner.

Questions

When is Mother's Day?

Mother's Day is the second Sunday of May. Check a calendar for the year you are shopping in, since the date moves.

What size should I order for the hoodie or the tee?

Both run in adult sizes from S to 2XL. The hoodie is cut relaxed and true to size, so size down for a fitted look. The tee is cut straight, so take the larger size for room and the smaller for a close fit.

Does the bandana fit a big dog?

It is one size with a tie-on fit. The folded triangle measures roughly 21 inches across the long edge with generous tails, and the listing says it fits small breeds through large, with a double-wrap for smaller necks.

Is Modified Monthly a one-time gift?

No, it is a subscription. The page explains how it renews and says standard plans can be paused, skipped or canceled before the next billing date.

What if the dog mom has a cat too?

Modified Monthly covers both. Dogs get the Gas Division lineup, cats get the Electric Division and the Hybrid Division is for a house with one of each.

Which treat 3-pack should I pick?

Pick beef liver if you want one ingredient that breaks into small pieces, and pick cheddar if the dog eats dairy. If the dog is on a special diet, ask your veterinarian before a new treat goes in the jar.
