Summer With the Dog

The short version

Summer at Sniff and Shift is road trips, beach days and Pup-Ornaut, our freeze-dried dog ice cream that does not melt in the car. The treats come from our Malvern, Pennsylvania kitchen and ride in the console all season without a cooler. The guides below cover the heat, the car, the cookout, the loud night in July and the days that fill up the calendar from Father's Day to Labor Day.

The heat and the car

What the dog can have from the cookout

What to hand the dog instead

Everything in the Pup-Ornaut ice cream collection is freeze-dried rather than frozen, so it does not melt. Every flavor contains dairy.

Our guide to dog days of summer treats covers the hot stretch, and frozen lick mat treats covers the backyard.

Why freeze-dried in July

A soft treat in a hot car turns into a smear on the seat. Freeze-dried pieces stay dry, travel without a cooler and break small at a rest stop, which is why every bag in the console is freeze-dried from June to September. Water and a bowl ride along too.

Summer gear from our partners

From SodaPup, the USA-K9 Fireworks eMat lick mat and the floating Glitter Ball fetch toy for the beach. SodaPup/True Dogs, LLC items are sold and shipped by SodaPup/True Dogs, LLC through Shopify Collective, not made or shipped by Sniff and Shift. Our own Tire Stack poop bag holder rides on the leash.

Shipping

Treats leave our kitchen within one business day. Partner items ship from their makers on their own schedules.

After summer

Fall starts the day after Labor Day, and the Halloween shop is the next big stop. Until then, the whole freeze-dried treats line is here.
