Car Wash Soap and Wax in One Kit

Be honest about what a hybrid does. Car wash soap and wax in one will not put down what a paste wax or a coating puts down, and anybody telling you otherwise is selling. What it does is leave a light layer of protection behind on every wash, which for a lot of owners is better than a perfect wax applied once and then never again. If you already wax twice a year and enjoy the afternoon, a hybrid soap is a downgrade and you want a dedicated shampoo instead. A plain soap sits in the add ons for exactly that. This kit is for the owner who has looked at a tub of wax on a shelf for three years and knows the truth about themselves. Protection that happens during a job you already do beats protection you keep postponing.
The soap, the towel and the midweek bottle
3D Wash N Wax is the gallon that carries the kit. 3D describes the formula as pH balanced, so it does not strip the wax or sealant underneath, and as highly concentrated with a high foam sud that rinses off easily. 3D lists it for cars, trucks, sport utility vehicles, boats, aircraft, motorhomes and motorcycles, by hand bucket or through a foam gun. At a gallon this runs many months of weekly washes, which is why the smaller sizes are not in the kit.
The 3D Gray HYDRO-FIL is here because of when you dry, not how well. A hybrid soap lays its protection down as the water comes off, so a car left to sheet dry in the sun ends up with the layer sitting in whatever pattern the evaporation chose. This is the 1200 GSM towel in a 20 by 24 inch size, blended 80 percent polyester to 20 percent polyamide, and 3D rates it at about two gallons of absorbency. Dry the car immediately, panel by panel, and the result is even.
P&S Spray-It is the pint for the middle of the week. The maker says it may be applied to wet or dry vehicles and can be sprayed on exterior surfaces with no adverse effects, and P&S built the formulation around waxing while you are already drying the car. Mist a panel, wipe through with the towel, move on. Skip it if you wash weekly, since the soap is already doing that job on your schedule.
Why there is no wax in a wash and wax kit
No paste, no applicator, no buffing cloth. Putting one in would quietly admit that the soap is not enough, and if that is where you land, the honest answer is a separate wash kit and a separate wax rather than three overlapping products. There is also no clay and no iron remover. A hybrid soap laying protection over bonded contamination is protection over contamination, so decontaminate once a year with the right kit and let the soap maintain what follows. Wash day with a hybrid
Two buckets as usual, and mix the soap to the label. Work top down, rinsing the mitt every panel, and rinse each section before it dries rather than soaping the whole car first. Final rinse with an open hose so the water sheets. Then dry straight away, starting at the roof, folding the towel to a fresh face as it loads up. Do not let it air dry, and do not park it in the sun to finish.
Midweek, if the car gets dusty, the spray wax and a second towel is a ten minute walk around. Keep that second towel away from the drying towel and wash them separately, because a drying towel carrying wax residue stops pulling water and you will blame the soap instead.
What it replaces
An afternoon with a paste wax twice a year, or more honestly, the afternoon you never spent. It also replaces the separate soap you were buying anyway, so the gallon is not really an extra line on the order at all. The spray wax is the one genuine addition here, bought for the weeks you skip the wash.

How long does the protection from a wash and wax last?
Less than a dedicated wax, which is the tradeoff. It also gets topped up every time you wash, so a car washed weekly stays ahead of one waxed in April and ignored until October.
Will it work through a foam gun?
3D lists it for hand bucket or foam gun use, so yes. Foam thickness depends on your gun and your water pressure rather than on the soap.
Can I still wax over it?
Yes. 3D describes the formula as pH balanced and says it does not strip the wax or sealant underneath, so a hybrid soap and an occasional proper wax are not in conflict.
