Snow Foam Kit

This kit is soap. It is not a foam cannon, and nothing here bolts onto a pressure washer. What it does answer is the question that follows the hardware purchase. Snow foam goes in the cannon for the touch free first pass. A pre soak handles the lower panels the foam cannot shift on its own, and a concentrated shampoo does the contact wash once the foam is rinsed away. Three bottles, three jobs, no overlap. Foam is a pre wash, not a wash
People buy a cannon expecting the car to come out clean without touching it. That is not what happens, and it was never the claim. A thick layer sitting on the paint gives grit time to release and float, so the mitt that follows is dragging less of the driveway across your clear coat. Swirls come from washing a dirty car with a dirty mitt. Foam reduces how dirty the car is when the mitt arrives, and that is the whole trick. What goes in which bottle
P&S Frostbite is the foam itself, sold as a quart. P&S says it is "specially formulated to provide effective cleaning power while being gentle on your vehicle's delicate paintwork" and that the formula "penetrates deep into crevices and lifts away dirt, road salt, and other contaminants". The maker describes the foam as rich and dense, clinging to the surface so it can loosen and encapsulate dirt for an easy rinse. It runs through a cannon on a pressure washer or a foam gun on a hose, laid on top to bottom, left to dwell, then rinsed before the mitt comes out. Skip the quart if you own neither, because without something to aerate it you are pouring soap down a fender.
3D Super Pre-Soak is the gallon that handles the bottom third of the car. 3D calls it a "High pH, strong degreasing pre-soak", a super concentrate that loosens dirt, grime, road film, bugs and tar. The rocker panels, the front bumper and the grille carry a different kind of soil than the roof does, and a general foam will not shift it in one dwell. Pour ratios come off the label rather than off this page. You can drop this one in a dry climate with clean roads and little bug traffic.
P&S IRS is the red soap, a gallon, and it does the contact wash after the foam is rinsed. P&S rates the concentration at 128 to 1 and describes it as super sudsing and cherry scented, producing a thick long lasting lather with good rinsing qualities that does not leave streaks behind. P&S states to dilute at the rated 128 to 1 into your wash bucket or into a machine feed. At that rate a gallon runs a season of weekly washes, which is why the gallon is here rather than a pint.
Hardware we did not put in
No cannon, no lance, no pressure washer. Those are one time purchases with fitting types that depend on the machine you already own, and guessing at an M22 versus a quick connect from a blog page is how people end up with a box they have to return. Buy the gun to suit your washer, then come back for the chemistry.
There is also no wheel cleaner in the three. Wheels come first on wash day and want their own product, so a pint of Brake Buster sits in the add ons instead of being forced into the main kit. Wash day, in sequence
Wheels first, always, before any foam touches the car. Then pre soak the lower panels and the front end and leave it to work while you mix the cannon. Foam the whole car top down, let it run, and do not let it dry in sun. Rinse. Now the two bucket wash with the red soap, top down again, rinsing the mitt every panel. Final rinse, then dry immediately, because a car left to air dry undoes the work in about four minutes.
Budget about ninety minutes the first time you run all three. The foam dwell and the pre soak dwell are dead time, so that is when the bucket gets mixed and the mitt gets rinsed, not before.
What three concentrates replace
Ready to use bottles are mostly water you paid to ship. A gallon of concentrate diluted at the maker rate covers a season of weekends for what a couple of trigger bottles cost, and you stop running out halfway through a Saturday. The pre soak is the one people underbuy and then wish they had more of come February.
Foam questions we get
Can I put snow foam through a garden hose foam gun?
You can, and the result is thinner and wetter. Foam density comes from pressure, so a hose gun gives you a soapy rinse rather than a clinging blanket. It still helps, it just helps less.
Do I still need to hand wash after foaming?
Yes, unless the car is only dusty. Foam moves loose grit. Bonded road film and bug splatter need contact or chemistry, which is what the other two bottles in the kit are doing.
Will this strip my wax or sealant?
Nobody has published surface or coating compatibility for the foam or the pre soak, so we are not going to guess on their behalf. Read the label, and if you are protecting a fresh coating, run the foam and skip the high pH pre soak.
