Complete Car Detailing Kit
Share
Five stages, one product each, in the order a car actually gets done. Wheels, then the contact wash, then the interior while the paint dries, then wax by hand, then glass last because everything else throws overspray onto it. That is the whole kit and the whole argument for it: nothing doubled up, nothing missing, and no decision left for you to make at nine on a Saturday morning. Our other kits, each built around a single job rather than the whole car, are on the bundle guides hub.
One product per stage, and what that rules out
Most people accumulate detailing products sideways. A wheel cleaner because the wheels went gray, a spray wax because it was on sale, an interior wipe grabbed at a gas station, and eventually a cabinet with four products that overlap and two gaps nobody noticed. Buying by stage fixes the gaps and stops the overlap.
The trade is that you get one answer per job rather than a choice. If you already know you prefer a sealant to a paste wax or a rinseless wash to a bucket, build your own. This one suits the hobbyist who wants the decisions made and wants to spend the weekend on the car instead of on reviews. The full shelf is on the Wash Bay hub.
Wheels, wash, interior, wax, glass
Brake Buster is stage one in practice even though wheels sit second on most lists, because everything you spray on a wheel runs down and off onto panels below. P&S describes it as "a unique cleaning gel that adheres to the wheel surface and penetrates the dirt deposits", which is why it stays on a vertical face long enough to work. The maker says it "safely removes accumulated brake dust, oil, dirt, stains and light corrosion from premium quality wheels without damaging the delicate surface", and adds that it leaves a thin layer of corrosion inhibitors behind. It is a gallon, which is right: wheels get cleaned more often than paint gets waxed.
Wash N Wax is the contact wash. In a kit that ends in paste wax, one property decides everything: 3D describes this formula as pH balanced, so it does not strip the wax or sealant underneath. A strong detergent soap would take the wax back off two weeks after you put it on. 3D also calls it highly concentrated with a high foam sud. Two buckets, top down, one panel at a time.
Swift is the interior stage, and it does two jobs so the car is finished in one pass. P&S states it quickly and effectively removes dirt and grime from leather, vinyl and plastic, and that once cleaned it leaves behind a conditioned, dressed appearance. The directions P&S gives are specific: shake well, spray onto the surface, a wax applicator or a scrub pad, scrub as needed, then remove the excess and wipe to the finish you want. Spray onto the applicator rather than the dashboard and overspray stops landing on the glass you are about to clean.
The wax is a traditional paste in a tin, applicator pad included, so nothing else needs buying alongside it. Pal Automotive states that it applies easily and lasts longer than liquid wax, and lists it as a high grade carnauba paste wax that gives shine and protection. Thin coats are the entire technique. A thick coat is harder to buff off and does not last any longer, and the tin needs its lid on tight or the paste dries out.
Glass Cleaner 901 goes last. 3D positions it for glass, mirrors, chrome, stainless steel and other smooth non porous surfaces, and states it cleans without leaving residues, streaks, smears or haze. 3D says the formula is alcohol based, which dissolves oily fingerprints and pet smudges, and that it contains no ammonia, which the maker says makes it suitable for tinted windows. One honest note before you order: Pal Automotive does not list a bottle size for this one, so confirm the volume if that matters to you.
Five products, one sender. Pal Automotive items are sold and shipped by Pal Automotive through Shopify Collective, not made or shipped by Sniff and Shift. Three of the five are gallons, so this arrives as a heavy box rather than a parcel.
What is not in the box
No drying towel, which is the one gap you should close before the first wash. A kit that runs from wheels to glass and leaves you drying with an old bath towel has undone its own work at the last step, and we left it out only because most people buying a full kit already own one. Add a proper drying towel if you do not.
No clay, no polish and no iron remover either. Those belong to decontamination and correction, which are jobs you do once or twice a year rather than every wash. Putting them in a kit like this encourages people to compound a car that needed claying, which takes clear coat off for no reason.
Running all five in a day
Start early and start in the shade. Wheels first, one corner at a time, rinsed before anything dries. Then rinse the whole car, wash top down with two buckets, rinse again and dry. While the paint finishes drying and the shuts stop dripping, do the interior with Swift, working surface by surface with the product on the applicator.
Wax when the paint is completely dry and cool. Thin coat, one panel, let it haze, buff off with a clean towel and move on. Glass comes at the very end, out of direct sun, with one towel to clean and a second dry one to buff, and the inside of the windshield done last of all.
What it replaces
The cabinet, and two or three trips to the parts store per season. Buying by stage means no overlap and no gaps, and three of these are gallons, so the restocking rhythm is annual rather than monthly. It does not replace a proper decontamination or a machine polish, and any kit sold as covering everything that includes neither is quietly leaving those out too.
Questions
Can I wax the same day I wash?
Yes, and that is the intended order here. The paint needs to be fully dry and cool to the touch first, including the shut lines, because water creeping out of a gap onto a waxed panel leaves a mark you will see for weeks.
Is a paste wax harder than a spray?
Slower rather than harder. A paste gives you more control on a small panel and it is the reason people enjoy waxing, but it takes an afternoon rather than twenty minutes. If you want the speed instead, a spray polymer wax applied during drying is the alternative.
Why is glass last rather than first?
Because wheel cleaner, soap, dressing and wax all put fine overspray on the windows, and cleaning glass before any of that means doing it twice. It is the cheapest rule in detailing to follow and the most commonly ignored.
