Pot of Gold coins are St Patrick's Day dog treats in two versions: gold yogurt dog treats tinted with a pinch of turmeric, and chicken coins sliced from boneless chicken breast.

Two versions, so every dog gets a pot. Both are coin shaped and both break clean, so one coin can be paid out in pieces from a training pocket. The chicken coins snap. The gold coins are for the dog who does not do chicken.

Chicken coins or turmeric yogurt coins

Chicken coins. Boneless chicken breast, sliced into rounds and air-dried slowly until they snap. Chicken breast is the only thing in the bag.

Turmeric yogurt coins. Plain Greek yogurt tinted gold with a pinch of turmeric, frozen in coin molds and freeze-dried. Yogurt plus turmeric makes two ingredients, so this version is not a single ingredient treat.

Each version comes in one bag. Pick yours on this page.

Made for St Patrick's Day

The coins are a St Patrick's Day batch. When that batch is sold out the button is off, and orders are not taken ahead. The holiday lands as road trip season starts again, so here are our spring road trip ideas for the rest of the bag.

Both versions are made in small batches and shipped by Sniff and Shift in Malvern, Pennsylvania. The gold coins are freeze-dried, the same way as our freeze-dried dog treats line.

Feeding and storage

Either coin is an occasional treat for the day, not a meal and not a complete diet.

Questions

What are the yogurt dog treats made of?

Plain Greek yogurt and a pinch of turmeric. The turmeric is there for the gold color.

Which coins are for a dog that does not eat chicken?

The turmeric yogurt coins. We made that version for exactly that dog.

What is the difference between the two?

The chicken coins are air-dried and the gold coins are freeze-dried. One is chicken breast, the other is yogurt and turmeric.

Do they work as training treats?

Both versions break clean, which is what you want from something that lives in a training pocket.

When are they sold?

Around St Patrick's Day. The button turns on once the first batch of coins is packed, and we promise no date.
