What is dock diving?

Distance is measured from the end of the dock to where the dog's tail base hits the water. There are variations big air for distance, and others for height but it all starts with a happy leap.

Is my dog a candidate?

Almost any dog in good shape who loves water and toys can try it. Retrievers and other water breeds are naturals, but plenty of mixed breeds and unexpected competitors excel too. The key ingredients are a solid recall, a love of swimming, and drive for a toy or reward. If your dog is new to swimming, build water confidence gradually and never force it.
