Distance is measured from the end of the dock to where the dog's tail base hits the water. There are variations big air for distance, and others for height but it all starts with a happy leap.

Is my dog a candidate?

Almost any healthy dog that loves water and toys can try it. Retrievers and other water breeds are naturals, but plenty of mixed breeds and unexpected competitors excel too.
