Pro Handler Treat Pouch and Line Kit

Four dogs before lunch changes what you need from a treat pouch. It has to hold a morning's worth rather than a session's, it has to stay open while you work and shut when you walk between clients, and everything else has to hang off the same belt so nothing gets set down on somebody's lawn. Who ends up buying this
Working trainers, mostly, and the owners who have quietly become one, running structured sessions three or four times a week across more than one dog. The difference from a class kit is volume and repetition. You are not packing for an hour, you are packing for a day, and the parts that annoy you once in a class will annoy you twelve times before you get home. Pouch, trio, line, clip, clicker
The Alamo carries the load. Wildebeest lists two separate water resistant compartments, a magnetic snap closure, and a detachable waist strap with a heavy duty clip as the alternative. Wildebeest also describes a daisy chain on the outside for poop bags and a webbing pull across the top edge. Two compartments matters more across four dogs than it does across one, because the dog with a fish problem and the dog who will work for anything are on the same belt within an hour of each other.
The Treat Pouch Trio is the restock. Three 3 ounce bags of our single ingredient freeze-dried treats, beef liver, beef heart and whole sardines, made in small batches in Malvern, Pennsylvania and shipped from us. Three smells rather than one is the practical part. Liver for the dog that works for anything, heart for the dog that finds liver too strong, sardine for the dog that has stopped caring about meat. The fifteen foot line is the working distance for stay, recall and place work. Educator describes it as the bridge between on leash obedience and off leash reliability, and says it comes off only once the response is reliable. One line covers most dogs you will see. Wear gloves, or let the line run through a loose hand rather than a closed fist, on any dog big enough to take off with it.
The carry clip is the part clients never notice and you will. Educator says a transmitter is only useful if it is on you, and lists lanyards, two belt clip shapes, Anywear clips and a Gear Keeper retractable tether across six options. A clicker, a whistle or a remote on the same belt as the pouch means both hands stay free for the leash and the reward.
The FC-100 rounds it out. Educator lists it in six colors, which sounds cosmetic until you are running a class or a multi dog household and need to know whose marker is whose.

The things we left out
A second pouch. Handlers running many dogs often carry one per dog and it is a real system, but it is also a system that needs a car boot and a routine, and this kit is the one belt version. Buy the second pouch when the first one is genuinely full.
No whistle in the required list, though the Barrows Blue Ribbon is here as an add on. Barrows describes it as pea-less, with no cork ball inside to freeze or clog on a cold morning, molded in ABS-785R with a rubber mouthpiece and a stainless steel O-ring for a lanyard. Barrows also says the body carries a directional cone that aims the sound down the field rather than back at the handler. That is field kit rather than everyday kit, which is why it is optional here. How a working morning packs
Fill both compartments the night before and keep the third bag in the car. Heart and liver in the big side, sardine in the small, and the third bag stays sealed until something runs out.
Set the belt up once and leave it. Pouch on the hip opposite your leash hand, clip on the same side as the pouch, clicker on the leash hand, line coiled in the bag rather than looped over a shoulder. If you have to think about where anything is between dogs, the arrangement is wrong.
Wash the pouch every evening rather than every weekend. Sardine and a warm car will make that decision for you eventually.
What it replaces
A shoulder bag and four half empty bags of different treats. Most people arrive at this setup after a year of carrying everything loose, losing the clicker twice and discovering that a bag of treats left in a car in August is a one time purchase. One belt, three bags in rotation, one line, and the only consumable you buy repeatedly is the treats.
Questions
Is one pouch really enough for four dogs?
For a morning of ordinary sessions, yes, with a refill bag in the car. If you are running four high rate puppy sessions back to back, you will want a second bag of the trio open rather than a second pouch.
Why sardines in a training trio?
Because some dogs stop working for meat. A whole sardine smells like nothing else in the bag, and it gives you a third tier without carrying a fourth container.
Do I need the clip if I use a clicker rather than a remote?
The clip is useful either way. A whistle or a clicker on a tether never ends up in the grass, which is where they end up when you are handling a dog and holding a line.
