What the store is

PetSmart lists a PetsHotel and a Doggie Day Camp here, both open until 8pm, which no other PetSmart in the zone offers. On top of that there is a grooming salon open until 7pm, dog training until 9pm, a Banfield veterinary clinic until 6pm, pet adoptions until 9pm and curbside pickup every day from opening until 7pm. That is close to the full PetSmart service stack in one building, and it is the most services of any single store on our list.

What they carry

The retail floor is the usual PetSmart range across dog, cat, small animal, bird, fish and reptile. Nothing unusual on the shelf compared with the other West Chester stores. What is different is that you can drop a dog for the day, get it groomed, see a vet and buy food without moving the car, which is a genuinely different kind of trip from the other three pet shops in town.

Hours, parking and getting in

Store hours are 9am to 9pm Tuesday through Saturday, 9am to 6pm on Monday and 10am to 6pm on Sunday. The Sunday close here is 6pm, an hour earlier than the Downingtown and King of Prussia PetSmart stores, so a late Sunday visit is the one that catches people out. The store sits in a retail strip on West Chester Pike with a shared lot. Every service desk closes before the store does, so book against the service hours, not the store hours.
