Slow feeder for large dogs: deep bowl options

Load any deep eBowl with our freeze-dried treats on top for enrichment. Large dogs often bolt their food in seconds. A deep slow feeder bowl from SodaPup adds maze ridges inside so your dog has to navigate around walls instead of just inhaling kibble.

Why deep bowls for large dogs

Large dogs and large-breed puppies prefer feeding from a bowl shape rather than a flat tray. They are used to pushing their face down into their bowl at home. A deep eBowl gives them that familiar experience while the maze pattern forces slower eating. The bowl measures about 8 by 8 inches and works for dogs from medium through extra large. The depth also holds more food per meal, which suits larger appetite needs.

The six eBowl designs

The Pine Tree eBowl has an evergreen pattern and comes in green. The Wave eBowl has a wave-pattern maze in blue. The Honeycomb eBowl features hexagon shapes in yellow or blue. The Java eBowl has a coffee-inspired speckled pattern. The Flower eBowl has petal patterns in pink or purple. The Great Outdoors eBowl features mountains and sun in orange or green.

Silicone construction and durability

All eBowls are made from TPE silicone, made in the USA, and go in the freezer and dishwasher without problems. The ridges stay consistent through hundreds of meals without flattening or warping. No cracks, no permanent stains, no odor that lingers. SodaPup uses the same silicone across all their enrichment toys, so you know what to expect in terms of durability.

Using a deep bowl at mealtime

Fill with kibble, wet food, or a mix of both. The maze slows eating naturally. If your dog tends to gobble quickly, the eBowl gives you several minutes of visible chewing time instead of a ten-second rush. Each meal becomes an enrichment session without extra effort from you. The depth also means less spillage on your kitchen floor.

Freeze-dried treats and deep bowls

Crumble our freeze-dried treats into the ridges alongside kibble. The deeper pattern holds crumbles well, and your dog gets the combination of slow feeding plus treat flavors.

Questions

Can a large dog break a silicone deep bowl?

Silicone does not break like ceramic bowls do. Even strong chewers cannot shatter or crack a TPE bowl. It can flex but won't chip, split or splinter.

Is the maze hard for a large dog to figure out?

No. The ridges naturally slow eating. Your dog will figure out the pattern within the first meal and then use the same paths every time without confusion.

Can I feed two large dogs from one bowl?

Not recommended. One bowl per dog may cause fighting over food and keeps portions separate and fair.

How full should I fill the eBowl?

Fill it normally. The ridges are designed to slow the meal even when the bowl is full. You do not need to leave extra space for the maze to work properly.

What if my large dog tries to flip the bowl?

The weight of the food plus the silicone grip makes flipping unlikely. If your dog has a history of bowl flipping, the deep bowl offers more stability than a shallow tray would.
