St Patricks Day Dog Treats: The Pot of Gold Coins Arrive

Sniff and Shift keeps the pouch stocked with freeze-dried, single ingredient treats all year, and for March that means the Pot of Gold Dog Treat Coins arriving for the season. Anyone typing st patricks day dog treats into a search bar before a parade or a green car show can stop looking, the coins are built for exactly that pouch. Ella still rides shotgun in the red Camaro either way, coins or no coins, and the routine around here does not change much for a holiday, we just add a green bandana and call it dressed up.

Why the coins get their own month

Most of what we make stays on the shelf all year because a single ingredient treat does not really need a season attached to it. The Pot of Gold Dog Treat Coins are the one exception on this list, a coin-shaped batch built around one holiday instead of a year-round spot in the lineup. They are freeze-dried in small batches, single ingredient, and they arrive for the season rather than landing on a fixed date, so the honest answer to when they show up is soon, not a specific day we can promise. Check the Pot of Gold Dog Treat Coins page and it will say the moment they land, no need to keep refreshing it every morning.

We treat a seasonal item the same way we treat everything else once it does arrive, small batch, single ingredient, nothing extra folded in to make it look more like a holiday product than a treat. The shape changes for March. The process behind it does not. That is really the whole philosophy behind every seasonal item we add, the calendar changes, the ingredient list stays exactly as short as it always was.

What goes in the pouch

The coins do not have to carry a whole parade day on their own. We build most pouches around a couple of treats so there is still something left by the time the dog has sniffed every float on the route and greeted every kid along the curb.

All three come from the same freeze-dried dog treats collection, one page to check before you load the pouch and head out the door. We rotate which one goes in first depending on what Ella has decided she prefers that week, which changes more often than the weather does this time of year.

What else rides along

A pouch is not the only thing that ends up in the car on parade day. Between the crowd, the curb, and a dog that wants to greet every other dog in line, we bring a couple of extras so the whole outing does not depend on one bag of treats.

Neither one is glamorous, both save the outing when the crowd is thicker than expected and the walk back to the car turns into a much longer loop around the block than planned.

Where the coins ride along

March around here is parade season and the first round of car shows waking up after winter. We do not keep a running list of every local parade route or green-themed cruise night ourselves, so if you are looking for what is happening near you, the dog-friendly car events board is the place we point people, it gets updated as shows are added rather than us guessing at dates. Bring the pouch either way, a parade with a dog in it moves slower than the schedule says, and that is fine, slower means more time to hand out coins and more time for Ella to work the crowd along the curb.

Questions

When do the Pot of Gold Dog Treat Coins arrive?

They are an announced seasonal item without a fixed date yet. The product page is the fastest way to check, it updates the moment they are ready to ship, and we would rather say soon and mean it than promise a date we cannot keep.

What is actually in the coins?

Single ingredient, freeze-dried in small batches, the same process as the rest of our treat line. We do not add color or flavoring beyond the coin shape, and we are not changing the recipe just because the calendar says March.

Do you know about local St Patrick's Day parades?

Not directly, routes and dates change town to town and year to year. The events board mentioned above is where local shows and parades get posted as we hear about them, so it is a better source than us guessing at a schedule that was different last spring anyway.
