Freeze-Dried Dog Treats Made in Malvern, PA
Sniff and Shift freeze-dries single-ingredient dog and cat treats in a small kitchen in Devault, PA, just up the road from Malvern in Chester County. Every bag ships from that kitchen within one business day, orders over $50 ship free, and if you live in the 36 ZIP codes around Malvern and West Chester we deliver to your door for free. This page is the short tour: what gets made here, how it gets to you, and where to say hi in person.
The kitchen, in one breath
We are a family business. Asher runs the freeze dryers and Ella, his dog, runs quality control. Batches are small and made by hand. Most treats have one ingredient, so the label reads like a grocery list with a single item on it: beef liver, cheddar, sardines, quail eggs. Freeze-drying pulls the water out at low temperature under vacuum, which keeps the look, the smell and the structure of the raw ingredient and leaves a treat that is light, shelf-stable and easy to snap into training-sized pieces. No refrigerator, no greasy pouch, no cooler in the trunk. Ingredients come from Pennsylvania farms and trusted suppliers whenever possible.
What is made in Chester County
Land: freeze-dried beef liver, beef heart, green tripe, cheddar cheese bites and whole quail eggs. Sea: whole sardines, sardine heads, anchovies, shrimp, scallops, blue-lipped mussels and the Captain's Catch medley. Off the usual map: baby octopus and frog legs. Dessert is Pup-Ornaut freeze-dried dog ice cream. For longer chews there are air-dried chicken feet, duck feet and duck necks. Cats get their own menu in locally made cat treats.
The full lineup lives in freeze-dried dog treats, and everything we make is in The Garage. If you would rather not pick, Modified Monthly sends a custom box on a schedule, and the bundles such as the Beef Trio and the Cheddar and Beef Liver Duo are priced under buying the bags one at a time.
One honest note. Our site also carries partner lines from The Family Pet, American Dog, Multipet, Wash Bay, Barrows and Up Dog Shop. Those are made by the partner and ship separately from the partner. The treats on this page are the ones that come out of our own kitchen.

Where to find us in person
We do not have a storefront. The kitchen is a kitchen. What we do have is a tent, and it goes up most weekends somewhere in southeastern Pennsylvania: pet expos, markets and dog-friendly car events. Recent and upcoming stops include Wuff Jam at Reeves Park in Phoenixville, the Pottstown Pet Fair at Memorial Park, Bark in the Park at Rose Tree Park in Media and the Greater Philly Pet Expo in Oaks. On Saturday mornings in season you will often find the Camaro, Ella and a table of samples at Cars and Coffee West Chester. The event calendar has the current list and says which ones we have confirmed.
If you are shopping local pet stores, our Pet Store Finder maps every pet store, feed store and groomer in the delivery zone, with pages for Concord Pet in Malvern, Main Line Coral Gardens in Malvern, All the Dogs in West Chester, Spott's Pet Shoppe in West Chester, Maddie's Castle in Phoenixville and EarthWise Pet in Exton. Those stores are independent businesses we list to help neighbors; they do not stock our bags today. Stores that would like to are welcome on the wholesale page.
Why make treats here at all
Because this is where we drive. Chester County has the back roads, the parks and the car meets that make a Saturday with a dog worth the gas, and a treat that survives a glovebox in July was the thing we could not buy. So we made it. If you want the longer version, read the rise of freeze-dried dog treats in Malvern, PA or the about page. Questions about storage, ingredients or shipping are answered on the FAQ, and if it is not there, email Support@sniffandshift.com and a person in the kitchen will answer.
Start with a bag of beef liver or cheddar bites, put it in the door pocket, and see what your co-pilot thinks.
