3D 501 AAT Rubbing Compound, Quart

3D AAT 501 is the cutting step, built on what the maker calls Adaptive Abrasive Technology. 3D describes it as body shop safe, made without silicone or fillers, and says it cuts P1000 grit sandpaper or finer while removing sanding marks, deep scratches, oxidation and water spots. It is a low dust formula, which keeps the panel and the workspace cleaner, and the maker says the finish it leaves is glossy enough that a second polishing step is often unnecessary.

Use it with a foam or wool pad on either a dual action or a rotary machine, since 3D states it suits both. Work small sections, keep the pad clean, and inspect under good light before moving on. Follow with a finishing polish when the paint is dark or sensitive. This is the quart, the size for a full car or a shop shelf, and the same formula is available in 8 oz and gallon bottles.
