3D 510 Premium Compound, Quart

3D 510 Premium Compound is the cutting step, meant for hard clear coats and the defects a polish will not reach. 3D calls it their fastest body shop cutting compound, and lists it as cutting and leveling hard clear coats, removing sanding marks, and taking out paint defects and imperfections. The Alpha Ceramic Alumina abrasive is what does the work, breaking down as you go so the panel ends up corrected rather than just filled in. It is silicone free, filler free and water based, and 3D calls it fresh paint safe.

3D lists it as removing P1000 and finer sand scratches, and as working on all paint finishes and colors. It is low dusting and wipes off easily, which is the difference between a clean afternoon and a bay covered in compound. Follow it with a finishing polish to clear any haze. This is the quart at 32 fluid ounces, the size that makes sense if you are correcting a whole car rather than chasing one panel.
