3D Magic Blue is a solvent based tire dressing, which is the reason it lasts. 3D describes it as a "Long lasting silicone formula" that "creates a deep, dark black shine" and notes it is "Solvent-based instead of water-based, which makes it highly water-resistant". The maker also calls it a "No run, no sling formula", the thing that decides whether a dressing ends up on the tire or flung down the side of your car on the first drive.
