3D Ultra Protectant, Pint

3D Ultra Protectant is the water based dressing for tires and exterior trim, and the reason to pick it over a solvent dressing is feel. The vendor description says it dries to the touch and leaves no greasy look, while 3D lists the product under "High-Gloss Finish", "UV Protection" and "Long-Lasting Results". It works on rubber and vinyl generally, so the same bottle covers tires, bumper trim and wheel arch moldings.

3D gives four steps. Spray it directly onto the tire sidewall. Spread it over the surface with a foam or microfiber applicator pad. Wipe the sidewall with a clean towel to even out the dressing and take off the excess. For a deeper shine, repeat and then allow 15 to 20 minutes of dwell time before you drive, which is what stops it flicking onto the paint. This is the pint, a size that lasts a long time because the amount used per tire is small. 3D also lists Ultra Protectant in 1 gallon and a 5 gallon pail.
