Barrows Blue Ribbon Training Whistle

The Blue Ribbon is the whistle Barrows designs and molds itself, and it is the piece most of their other gear hangs off. It is a pea-less whistle, so there is no cork ball inside to freeze or clog on a cold morning, molded in ABS-785R with a rubber mouthpiece and a stainless steel O-ring for the lanyard.

The body carries a directional cone that aims the sound down the field rather than back at the handler. Barrows' own account is that dogs respond to high decibel, lower frequency sound, and that this is what the Blue Ribbon was tuned for. The translucent blue housing makes it easy to find when it is lying in cover.
