Diamond states the formula "is formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles for maintenance." This recipe contains grains and is not a grain-free formula.

The first ingredients are lamb, lamb meal, ground white rice, cracked pearled barley and grain sorghum, followed by egg product, dried yeast and chicken fat. Diamond's guaranteed analysis for this recipe:

• Crude fat: not less than 15%
• Crude fiber: not more than 3%
• Moisture: not more than 10%

Diamond's feeding chart runs from about 1/3 cup a day for a 3 pound dog up to about 2 1/3 cups a day for a 40 pound dog, split across two or more meals with fresh water always available.
