P&S Ballistic Max Cut Compound, Quart

The quart of the heaviest cutting compound P&S makes. Their words: "Ballistic Compound is a max cutting heavy duty compound designed to provide sufficient cutting capabilities for use on harder paint finishes and gel coat." It was developed to remove 1000 grit sanding scratches or finer, plus oxidation, fallout, water spots and other surface irregularities, so it is aimed at defects a polish will not touch.

P&S says it "can be used with rotary or high action DA polishers with either wool or foam cutting pads," and describes it as "safe for use on all paint finishes." Work a small section at a time, keep the pad clean, and expect to follow up with a finish polish to bring the gloss back after the cut. The quart is the right size for a home bay doing a few full corrections a year rather than a shop running paint daily. This is a machine product, not a hand glaze.
