P&S Crystal Wash, Gallon

Crystal Wash is the P&S decontamination product for cars that have picked up industrial fallout, the rust coloured specks that show up on light paint and feel rough under a plastic bag test. P&S calls it "a general strength, industrial fallout remover designed for safe and easy, application and removal" and says it "removes industrial fallout, rust deposits and pollution particles." It is a chemical decontamination step, done before polishing or protecting.

The mechanism is unusual and worth knowing: P&S says Crystal Wash "crystallizes as it dries, physically and chemically breaking free fallout particles." That means the drying is part of the process rather than a mistake, though you still want a cool panel out of direct sun so it works evenly. Wash the car first, apply, let it do its work, then rinse thoroughly. This is the one gallon size; P&S also sells it in five gallons for shop use.
