P&S Headlight Restoration Compound, Quart

Headlight Restoration Compound is the cutting step in the P&S headlight pair. P&S calls it "a refined compound designed to provide sufficient cutting capabilities for use on headlight lenses," developed to "remove sanding scratches oxidation and surface defects from headlight lenses." Polycarbonate lenses are softer than clear coat and cloud from the outside in, so they need a compound aimed at that plastic rather than a paint compound borrowed from the shelf.

P&S says the compound produces a smooth finish ready for the final polishing step, and that it can be used with a conventional wool pad or a foam pad depending on the results you want. Wool cuts faster and hazes more, foam is slower and finishes cleaner. Follow it with P&S Headlight Restoration Polish to bring the clarity back. P&S sells the compound in a quart only, so treat it as shop stock that will outlast several sets of lenses.
