Taste of the Wild describes this recipe's protein blend as "a hearty blend of beef, lamb protein, eggs and wild boar" that provides "complete protein nutrition with a rich, meaty flavor." The brand adds its own K9 Strain probiotics after cooking, guaranteed at 80 million live cultures per pound. Its own site states this recipe "is formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles for All Life Stages including growth of large size dogs (70 lb. or more as an adult)."

The first ingredients are beef, peas, garbanzo beans, lamb meal, canola oil, egg product, wild boar and ocean fish meal. Taste of the Wild's own site lists guaranteed analysis as crude protein not less than 29.0%, fat not less than 15.0%, fiber not more than 5.0% and moisture not more than 10.0%, with 408 kcal per cup. Its feeding chart runs from about 1/3 cup a day for a 3 pound adult dog up to about 4 3/4 cups for a 100 pound adult dog.
