The Reset Clay Towel is the decontamination step, the one that happens after the wash and before any polishing or protection. P&S describes it as an innovative product for the removal of industrial fallout, overspray, water spots, rail dust, surface rust and other surface contaminants from the surface of automotive paint, metal and glass. If your paint still feels gritty after a proper wash, this is the tool that fixes it, and the difference is easiest to feel through a plastic bag over your hand rather than to see.

Instead of a traditional clay bar, P&S uses what it calls advanced rubber polymer technology on the face of a towel. The company states that Reset easily glides over the surface and removes contaminants three times faster than clay, creating an incredibly smooth paint finish. Keep the panel well lubricated while you work, and let the towel do the moving rather than pressing down on it. The towel measures twelve by twelve inches, and unlike a clay bar it does not have to be thrown away the first time it hits the driveway. Rinse it clean before you set it down and store it flat.
