Wellness describes its Core line as based on the idea that dogs thrive on a diet mainly of meat, with no meat by-products, fillers, grain, corn, soy, wheat-gluten or artificial preservatives, colors or flavors, and this recipe is positioned to help dogs maintain a healthy weight. First ingredients: deboned turkey, turkey meal, chicken meal, lentils, peas, dried ground potatoes and pea fiber. Wellness's guaranteed analysis: Crude protein not less than 34 percent, crude fat not less than 10 percent, crude fiber not more than 8 percent and moisture not more than 10 percent. Calorie content (calculated): 3,300 kcal per kg, 366 kcal per cup. Wellness's own chart runs from about 1/2 to 1 1/4 cups a day at 6 to 20 pounds up to about 4 1/2 to 5 cups at 95 to 115 pounds.
