Why a terrier is harder to pay than a retriever

Why we did not put a third treat in here
Every sampler instinct says add a fish and a liver and let the dog choose. We left the third bag out because two tiers is already one more than most small dog owners keep straight, and a third mostly becomes the bag that goes stale in the cabinet. Once the tiering habit is solid, the small dog treat rundown is the place to pick a fourth.
Portioning before you start, not during
Quarter the cheddar at the counter. A small handful is plenty for a week of short sessions, and doing it in advance means you are not fumbling with a whole piece while the dog waits.
Halve or quarter the anchovies the same way and keep them in a separate closed bag. If the two ride loose together, everything in the pouch smells like fish inside a day and you have collapsed your own tiers.
Keep a session to two or three minutes and stop while the dog still wants more. With a small dog that limit arrives sooner than you expect, usually around the point where you think one more rep would be fine. Are freeze-dried treats too hard for a small mouth?
Cheddar is not, because it fractures rather than resisting. Whole anchovies are a different story and should be broken up first. The rule is the same as for a big dog, scaled down.
Same treats for a puppy and an adult?
Yes. Both bags are single ingredient, and piece size is the only thing that changes between the two. A puppy gets smaller pieces and shorter sessions, which is less a different product than a different hand.
Will the pouch fit on leggings?
