The first five ingredients are whole grain corn, chicken by-product meal, corn gluten meal, ground rice and soybean meal, weighed before cooking removes moisture, and a named liver flavor and chicken appear further down the list as flavoring rather than the primary protein source. The feeding table is staged two ways at once, by the puppy's weight at maturity in four bands from 50 to 155 lb and by its current age from 1 and a half months up through after 2 years, at which point the label tells the owner to move the dog onto the adult Dog Chow formula that fits it.
