Energy 1,240 kcal/kg calculated metabolizable energy (456 kcal/can). AAFCO: Zignature Puppy Formula for dogs is formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles for all life stages, including growth of large size dogs (70 lbs or more as an adult). Turkey is the first ingredient.

This canned recipe names turkey first, followed by turkey broth, then pork and whitefish, a three protein combination not repeated in any other Zignature wet recipe reviewed in this batch. Peas are the only plant ingredient of consequence on the list. Despite carrying Puppy in its name, the manufacturer's own AAFCO statement reads for all life stages, including growth of large size dogs, the same broad adequacy claim used on the brand's general purpose Original wet recipes rather than a puppy specific growth statement. The guaranteed analysis lists a 9.5% minimum crude protein and 9.0% minimum crude fat on an as fed basis, with omega 6 and omega 3 fatty acids both guaranteed without the asterisk the maker applies elsewhere to non essential nutrients. Taurine and L-carnitine are both listed as separate ingredients. The manufacturer's page gives combination feeding guidance for pairing this can with Zignature dry food as well as a standalone can chart. Whatever food ends up in the bowl, a single ingredient freeze dried topper is a way to add interest without changing the diet, which is what Sniff and Shift makes in Malvern, Pennsylvania.
