3D Dark Purple Spider-Cut Foam Cutting Pad, 5.5 in

Run a hand across the face of this pad and you can feel the difference: a sharp, coarse foam structure, which is what you want when defects need to come out quickly. It is 3D's 5.5 inch dark purple cutting pad, and the slotted spider cuts across the face are functional. They flex as the pad spins, increasing surface area and with it the pad's ability to cut.

Those same slots trap compound and abrasives between them as you buff, which extends working time and keeps the abrasives in contact with the paint for more efficient correction. The open cell design moves air through the pad, so surface temperatures stay lower and the face resists bowling in, and it is more tear resistant than closed cell foam. Use it as the first correction step with a cutting compound, then step down to a polishing pad. It cuts fast and, being foam rather than fiber, leaves a nicer finish than wool.
