3D 6.5" Light Purple Spider-Cut Foam Polishing Pad

In the 3D Car Care pad system the light purple foam is the polisher, sitting between the dark purple cutting pad and the black finishing pad. This is the 6.5 inch spider-cut version, sized for a six inch backing plate and better suited to hoods, doors and roofs than the smaller pads. 3D says the foam starts a tick on the firm side and softens slightly once you begin working, which is what gives it a balance of light cutting, polishing and even finishing.

The slotted spider-cuts across the face are the working part of the design. 3D says they flex when the pad spins against the surface, increasing the contact area, and open up to trap polish abrasives between the cuts for a longer working time. The same slots move air through the pad, which keeps the temperature down and helps stop the face bowling in. 3D lists it for rotary, long stroke, short stroke, free spinning and gear driven polishers.
