3D Detailing Clay Pad

The clay pad replaces the clay bar with a disc of polymerized rubber that pulls bonded contaminants off the paint. It covers far more area than a bar, and 3D rates it for up to 50 vehicles before it needs replacing. The other practical advantage is what happens when you drop it: a clay bar that hits the ground is finished, while the pad rinses clean and goes back to work.

It is designed for use with a machine polisher, which is what makes it faster than claying by hand. Wash the car first, keep the surface flooded with a clay lubricant or a detail spray, and run the pad at low speed with light pressure until the paint feels smooth. Wipe the panel down and move on. Rinse the face regularly so trapped grit is not carried into the next section. Follow with polish or protection, since decontamination leaves paint bare.
