RUPES BigFoot Backing Plate 981.321N, 6 Inch

This is the RUPES 981.321N backing plate, the 6 inch hook and loop pad holder that bolts to a BigFoot 21 mm random orbital polisher. RUPES notes that the BigFoot 6 inch random orbitals swing a 21 mm orbit and build real momentum, with some LHR21 models running up to 4,500 orbits per minute, which is a hard life for any backing plate. The plate has a multi hole face, a hard density foam body and an M8 thread, and it carries the part number 981.321N on the RUPES consumables list.

Thread it onto a clean spindle, press a BigFoot foam or wool pad squarely onto the hook and loop face, and center the pad before you pull the trigger. RUPES treats the plate and the pad as one system, and warns that using backing pads or compound carriers other than members of the BigFoot family can lead to a reduction in performance and can further affect the technical and mechanical characteristics of the tool.
