RUPES D-A Coarse Foam Pad, Blue, 4 in

Blue is the cutting foam in the RUPES D-A range, and this is the four inch version, part number 9.DA100H. RUPES describes the D-A Coarse foam pad as specially designed to be used with both random orbital and gear driven tools, with a unique open cell foam material that removes mild to severe defects from most paint systems. Four inches is the size for the places a big pad cannot reach flat: bumpers, pillars, mirror caps, door handles and the tight radius above a wheel arch.

RUPES states that when it is paired with RUPES D-A Coarse compound the pad provides improved cutting and finishing ability, which is the intended combination rather than a suggestion. On the pad itself, RUPES says the current foam combines the best aspects of the previous blue and green foams, with increased durability and a more vibrant blue color. Sizing follows the same tapered rule as the rest of the range, so a pad listed as four inches takes a three inch backing plate. Cutting pads generate heat, so keep the machine moving and stop to clean the face regularly, because a loaded pad cuts less and hazes more.
