RUPES D-A Ultra-Fine Foam Pad, White, 6 in

This is the white pad in the RUPES D-A range, part number 9.DA150S, and white means the softest cut. RUPES describes the D-A Ultra-Fine foam pad as designed for high gloss finishing and polishing on haze prone or very soft paint surfaces, and notes it can also be used for the application of sealants or waxes. It is the pad you reach for at the end of a correction, not the start of one.

Pairing matters more with finishing pads than with cutting pads. RUPES recommends pairing the D-A Ultra-Fine foam pad with UNO Pure universal polish to remove extremely fine defects or to bring out a show car level finish, and the same pad handles a wax or sealant application when the correction is already done. One thing to check before you order: RUPES pads are tapered, so the size on the label is the diameter of the face and not the backing. RUPES states that a pad listed as six inches has five inches of backing material, which means this pad belongs on a five inch backing plate. Getting that pairing right is what keeps the pad running flat and cool on the panel.
