RUPES D-A Fine Foam Polishing Pad, 7 in Yellow

Yellow is the pad most people reach for most often. RUPES calls the D-A Fine foam pad the most versatile pad in the BigFoot range, delivering an effective rate of defect removal alongside the ability to finish to high gloss on most paint systems. That combination is why it handles both the polishing step and the final pass on softer paint.

This is the 9.DA180M, listed by RUPES at 150 by 180 mm, the large pad for a 6 inch backing plate and long panels. RUPES recommends pairing it with D-A Fine polishing compound for moderate to fine defect removal, paint refinement, or final finishing after heavy compounding. RUPES notes this generation uses the same foam as the earlier random orbital yellow, expanded to also work with gear driven orbitals, in a more vibrant shade of yellow.
