RUPES D-A Ultra-Fine Foam Pad, White, 7 in

Part number 9.DA180S is the seven inch white pad in the RUPES D-A range, the large format version of the softest foam RUPES makes. RUPES describes the D-A Ultra-Fine foam pad as designed for high gloss finishing and polishing on haze prone or very soft paint surfaces, and adds that it can also be used for the application of sealants or waxes. The extra face diameter is about covering ground, which is what you want on hoods, roofs and van panels rather than on tight bumper work.

RUPES recommends pairing the D-A Ultra-Fine foam pad with UNO Pure universal polish to remove extremely fine defects or to bring out a show car level finish. Check your backing plate before ordering: RUPES pads are tapered, so the stated size is the diameter of the face and not the backing, and RUPES states that a seven inch pad takes a six inch backing plate. Running a large finishing pad on an undersized plate is how you get uneven pressure and heat at the edge of a panel. On a long throw machine, keep the arm speed slow and let the pad and polish work rather than leaning on it.
