Dynabrade DB8 Renny Doyle Series Geared Dual Action Polisher

The DB8 is Dynabrade's geared dual action polisher, developed with Renny Doyle of Detailing Success. Dynabrade describes a tool that cuts like a rotary and finishes like a dual action, which is the whole reason geared machines exist: the gear drive keeps the pad turning under load instead of stalling out the way a free spinning random orbital can on a hard clearcoat or a curved panel.

The stated specifications are straightforward. A 1000 watt motor suited for all detail applications, a thumb controlled variable speed dial with eleven speed options from 150 to 350 OPM, and a custom design that runs both five inch and six inch backing plates. Dynabrade says the focus was a smooth running tool with little to no vibration, and describes the DB8 as well balanced, lightweight and compact, with a precision balanced design for control and an ergonomically designed extended handle with a single action lock trigger, which is what your forearms notice three hours into a job. Doyle states the tool came out of a collaboration between his own detailing experience and Dynabrade's engineering, and that the machine was tested for a year on projects including Air Force One and Monterey Car Week.
