RUPES D-A Medium Wool Polishing Pad, 6" Yellow (9.NW160M)

This is the larger of the two RUPES D-A Medium wool pads, part number 9.NW160M, a 160 millimeter pad for a six inch backing plate. It covers ground faster than the five inch on hoods, roofs and long flat panels. RUPES made the medium wool range for the removal of moderate defects on dual action tools, and describes the yellow foam behind the wool as highly flexible, which improves control on curves and gives the pad a softer support for better finishing.

RUPES keeps a uniform fifteen millimeter fiber length across the full face of every pad in the yellow medium range. That combination of soft flexible wool and a gentle yellow foam backing is what allows one pad to clear moderate defects and still finish well. RUPES lists this size for the LHR21 and the LK900E. Use it with a compound or polish matched to the defect, and clean the wool regularly so it keeps cutting evenly.
