RUPES D-A Coarse Cutting Compound, 250 ml

D-A Coarse is the heavy end of the RUPES compound range. RUPES calls it a high performance cutting compound built for maximum efficiency, aimed at users who want quick defect removal and a smooth user experience on every type of paint. In practice that means sanding mark removal and severe defect removal, or a one step pass that takes moderate to severe defects out of most paints and still finishes with what RUPES describes as excellent clarity.

RUPES optimizes the formula around its own pad system. The stated best pairing is RUPES coarse blue foam, D-A wool pads, or coarse microfiber discs, run on BigFoot dual action polishers, including both random orbital and gear driven tools. Two working qualities matter on a long job: a durable lubrication system that RUPES says extends the polishing cycle and gives longer working time, and a low dusting formula that reduces the cleanup after a compounding pass. Both of those show up as time saved rather than as anything you can see in the bottle. This is the 250 ml size, which is the sensible amount for a single car or for testing a pad and compound combination before committing to a larger bottle.
