RUPES D-A Intermediate Foam Polishing Pad, 6 in

The D-A Intermediate pad is the one that covers the middle of a job. RUPES positions it between the D-A Fine and D-A Coarse pads, and describes it as pairing with a range of RUPES compounds so that a single pad can change roles depending on what you put on it. Paired with RUPES D-A Coarse blue compound, RUPES says it has the polishing power to remove severe defects from a wide variety of painted and solid surfaces. Paired with D-A Fine yellow polishing compound, RUPES says it removes moderate to fine defects and creates a high gloss finish.

It also has a protection role. RUPES states the foam really shines when paired with UNO Protect or UNO Advanced for final polishing and creating a durable layer of protection, which makes it a reasonable single pad to carry if you are correcting one car rather than running a shop. On sizing, RUPES notes the size listed is the diameter of the face of the pad, and that RUPES pads are tapered, so a pad listed as six inches has five inches of backing material. Four inch pads take a three inch backing plate, six inch pads take a five inch plate, and seven inch pads take a six inch plate.
