3D Super Pre-Soak Nano Drum one gallon jug of orange liquid with a black cap

Pressure Washer Car Wash Kit

You already own the machine, so this page skips the hardware argument. What a pressure washer car wash actually needs is chemistry that suits a machine feed. A pre soak strong enough that the dirt is already loose before the lance reaches it. A concentrated shampoo that foams through an injector for the contact wash, and a wheel cleaner concentrate for the corners a lance cannot reach. Dwell time does more of the work than pressure does. Other wash day kits sit on the bundle guides hub.

Pressure is the last resort, not the first

A lance held close enough to blast dirt off is also close enough to lift a chip edge or drive water past a trim seal. The safer and faster habit is chemical dwell, then rinse at a sane distance. Lay product on, give it the time the label asks for, and let the pressure carry away something that has already let go. That single change is why a professional wash bay is quicker than a driveway with a wand.

What goes through the machine

3D Super Pre-Soak is the first gallon out. 3D states it is a high pH degreasing concentrate aimed at road film, bugs and tar, taken off chemically so the mitt is never the thing dragging them over the clear coat. It goes on a dry car, works while you set up the rest, and is rinsed before any soap arrives. Ratios come off the label, not from here, and the gallon lasts because the working dilution is thin. Leave it out if you wash every week on clean suburban roads. A foam pass alone will cover that.

P&S IRS is the contact wash soap, and it is the bottle most owners of a pressure washer underuse. P&S rates it at 128 to 1 and states to dilute at that rate into your wash bucket or into a machine feed. Run it through the soap injector for the wash pass, or mix a bucket and use a mitt if your machine has no injector. Either way the point is the mitt, because a touch free wash leaves a film that only contact removes.

P&S Knock Off handles the wheels. P&S sells it as a non acidic wheel cleaner built for high production wheel cleaning, and says it removes stubborn brake dust. It is a concentrate, so the label carries the range: mix it weak for a weekly wheel and stronger for one that has been ignored since spring. Skip it if your wheels are new and you wash them every week, since soap and a brush will keep up.

Deliberately absent

No cannon, no nozzles, no surface cleaner attachment. You have the machine and its fittings, and a blog page guessing at your connector type is not useful to you. If you want to run foam rather than an injector, a quart of snow foam sits in the add ons.

No drying towel in the three either, which is the omission people notice. A pressure washer does not dry a car, and water left to evaporate spots. Add a towel from the same order or use one you already own, but do not finish this wash without one. The whole aisle is on the Wash Bay. Search the full range of soaps and concentrates on Explore before you commit to these three.

Running the wash

Wheels first and separately, with the wheel concentrate and a brush, rinsed before anything else gets wet. Then pre soak the whole car dry, bottom half especially, and leave it. Rinse top down at about a foot and a half from the paint. Soap through the injector or a bucket, wash top down with a mitt, rinsing the mitt constantly. Final rinse. Dry immediately with a clean towel rather than letting the sun do it.

The machine is loud enough that Ella takes herself off the driveway without being asked. Keep the wheel brush and the wheel mitt somewhere they cannot be picked up by mistake on the paint pass, because that is how brake dust ends up in a clear coat.

What the concentrates replace

Ready to use wash products are mostly water, and a pressure washer goes through them fast because an injector draws a lot. Three gallons of concentrate covers a season of weekly washes, wheels included, at a fraction of what trigger bottles cost over the same stretch. The pre soak is also the product that stops you from pushing the lance closer, which is the expensive mistake in this whole process.

Questions about running the machine

Will a pre soak strip my wax?

A high pH product used strong can shorten the life of a wax layer. Nobody has published coating compatibility for this one, so run it thin, keep it off a freshly coated car, and read the label.

Can I use dish soap in the injector instead?

You can, and it will clean. It also foams badly through a venturi, strips protection and is harsh on trim, which is why car shampoo exists as its own product.

How far back should I hold the lance?

About eighteen inches for paint and further on old or chipped panels. Close in at a bad angle is how a stone chip becomes a peeling patch.

How it ships

Pal Automotive items are sold and shipped by Pal Automotive through Shopify Collective, not made or shipped by Sniff and Shift. Three gallons is the heaviest order in this cluster and it moves on ground service out of Piscataway, New Jersey, with each gallon carrying its own tracking rather than one number for the lot. Use the wait. Pull the soap injector off your machine, check the pickup tube and the screen, and clear whatever last summer left in there, because a blocked injector will make a perfectly good shampoo look like a bad one.
