Energy 1130 kcal/kg calculated metabolizable energy, or 391 kcal per can. AAFCO: Fromm Turkey Pate Food for Dogs is formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles for all life stages, except for growth of large size dogs (70 lbs. or more as an adult). Turkey is the first ingredient.
This is the single protein turkey entry in Fromm's pate range, and it is unusually short for a canned recipe: turkey, turkey broth and turkey liver account for the first three slots, followed by pearled barley and ordinary vegetables, with no second meat species anywhere on the list. That matters if you are feeding a dog that reacts to chicken or beef, because several of Fromm's other pates carry a second protein further down. Note the AAFCO statement is the all life stages EXCEPT growth of large size dogs variant, the same exception Fromm applies to its Salmon and Chicken and its Venison and Lentil pates, so a large breed puppy is not covered. On a dry matter basis the guarantees work out at roughly 32 percent protein and 25 percent fat.
