The manufacturer sells this recipe as Salmon & Oatmeal Skin & Coat Health Dog Kibble.

Guaranteed analysis (as fed, per manufacturer): Crude Protein (min) 29%, Crude Fat (min) 13%, Crude Fiber (max) 4%, Moisture (max) 10%, Linoleic Acid (min) 1.8%, Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA) (min) 0.4%, Eicosapentaenoic Acid (EPA) (min) 0.4%, Zinc (min) 150 mg/kg, Vitamin A (min) 20,000 IU/kg, Vitamin E (min) 500 IU/kg, Omega 3 Fatty Acids (min) 1.4%, Omega 6 Fatty Acids (min) 1.8%, Taurine (min) 0.2%, Biotin (min) 35 mg/kg. Energy 3,500 kcal/kg (430 kcal/cup). AAFCO: Open Farm Skin & Coat Wild-Caught Salmon & Oatmeal Recipe Dog Food is formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles for maintenance (per manufacturer). Open Farm notes that the omega fatty acids, taurine and biotin lines are not recognised as essential nutrients by the AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles.

Of all the targeted formulas in the Open Farm range, this is the one whose label most clearly matches its claim. The nutrients a vet would name for skin and coat are all published as numbers rather than implied: EPA at a 0.4 percent minimum and DHA at 0.4 percent, which is the only recipe in the range to guarantee EPA separately at all; linoleic acid at 1.8 percent; zinc at 150 mg/kg; biotin at 35 mg/kg; vitamin E at 500 IU/kg, ten times the 50 published on the standard recipes; and vitamin A at 20,000 IU/kg, four times standard. Omega-3 totals 1.4 percent, second only to the salmon puppy food's 1 percent on a different basis. Three ingredients are published inline, salmon then flaxseed then salmon oil, which means two of the top three exist to deliver fat. One note on the AAFCO statement: it reads for maintenance rather than the usual for adult maintenance, which is a shorter wording for the same life stage, and it is reproduced above exactly as published. Not a growth food either way.
