AAFCO: Pro Plan Complete Essentials Chicken & Carrots Entrée Classic is formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles for maintenance of adult dogs (per manufacturer). Chicken is the first ingredient.

This grain free classic pate wet food is sold in a 13 oz can. Its first five ingredients by pre-cook weight are chicken, water, liver, meat by-products and carrots, with no grain or potato in the top five, which is what makes it a grain free recipe rather than merely a low-grain one. The manufacturer formulates it to the AAFCO nutrient profile for maintenance of adult dogs. The label offers a combination feeding option, replacing part of a dry Pro Plan ration with a partial can, alongside a canned-only chart that runs from about 1/2 can a day for a 4 lb dog to roughly 4 cans for a 100 lb dog, divided into multiple feedings and adjusted to keep the dog at its ideal body condition rather than followed as a fixed rule. Whatever food ends up in the bowl, a single ingredient freeze dried topper is a way to add interest without changing the diet, which is what Sniff and Shift makes in Malvern, Pennsylvania.
